If you have never sought counselling before, you might feel a bit anxious about the process of reaching out.
Talking about personal issues to a stranger may not feel natural, or easy. As an experienced counsellor in Bournemouth and online, I am careful to make sure each client feels as comfortable as possible. This is your time; you have the freedom to speak as honestly as you want during our sessions, without fear of judgement.
Speaking to family or friends about sensitive problems can often be hard, but with counselling you can fully express yourself and be heard, seen, understood, and gain a better understanding of how you could move forward.
Whether you are struggling with depression, have work issues, or want to speak with a specialist in LGB counselling, I am here to help. Don’t hesitate to give me a ring at any time.
A Safe Space
For many people, counselling serves as the one place where they can feel comfortable enough to speak honestly about how they feel. If you have a stressful home or work life, counselling gives you a safe, non-judgemental environment to simply be yourself without worrying about other people or any repercussions.
You may have recently encountered a major life event, such as a bereavement, break-up, or job loss. Handling these problems on your own is challenging, and counselling gives you some much-needed support when it comes to processing what has happened and coming up with a way of moving forward.
Perhaps you feel anxious all the time, or slightly low, or simply feel like something is off but can’t put your finger on what it is. My counselling in Bournemouth and online provides you with the required space to engage with these feelings and understand what they are, where they come from, and what impact they are having, allowing you to move forward with greater clarity.
As a person-centred counsellor, I allow sessions to be directed by you. Together we will create the right conditions for exploring what you feel and validate your experience. I believe everyone has an innate potential for growth and empowerment, and my role is to help you along that path, giving you unconditional positive regard at all times. Creating a collaborative relationship based on trust is so important; I always encourage clients to take an active role in counselling by exploring their issues, feelings and beliefs, helping them to see things more clearly.
If needed, I can employ other specific counselling modalities that would be particularly helpful for your situation, such as transactional analysis or Gestalt therapy. We will always look to come up with a way of working that addresses your specific situation.
